Excellence in research requires keeping current with the latest information spanning diverse fields.
Toward this end the Department of Biological Chemistry sponsors the Distinguished Lecture Series through
which students invite and host internationally renowned scientists. The Embryology Club, the Stem Cell
Journal Club, and the Howard Hughes Undergraduate Journal Club provide venues for the presentation and
discussion of new and seminal research. Other lecture series and journal clubs include the Gene
Regulation Symposia, and the weekly MBI and Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC) Seminars.
