A basic science department within the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, we conduct innovative, high-impact biological and translational research and educate students and postdoctoral fellows to become critical, creative and effective independent scientists. Faculty in our department have made fundamental contributions to cell and molecular biology, including advances in stem cell biology, cancer biology, gene regulation, neurobiology, development, and structural biology.
